Gryphon Gold is a Nevada-focused gold exploration and development company. The principal asset of Gryphon Gold Corporation is the Borealis Property, 27.5 square miles located in the Walker Lane gold belt of western Nevada. The one square mile Central Borealis zone is accredited with 1.4 million ounces of measured and indicated gold resources and 1.1 million ounces of inferred gold resources. Previous operators have mined and heap leached over 500,000 ounces of gold from this zone during their collective 10-year tenure. There are at least five other highly prospective zones that are currently being explored that have the potential to host significant gold resources.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Gryphon Gold initiated the exploration on Borealis property in 2007 with the estimated budget of $4.5 million to drill total of 72 holes in the property. The Borealis property is spread over 27.5 square miles in Western Nevada. All the permits are in place to begin mining gold in the very near future. (GYPH) recently announced that it has received the approval of Amendment 5 of the Plan of Operation (POO) for the Borealis Mine Site from the United States Forest Service. This amendment is the final approval required to allow sample collection for the confirmation of the Freedom Flats Re-Leach data. This data will include both grade and metallurgical recovery of gold form the Freedom Flats stockpile.
“We have set an ambitious schedule that provides for construction in March, 2011 and gold production in July, 2011 subject to financing. This POO approval will keep us on schedule and drills will be active today to secure the required samples to confirm this critical data. Our goal is to be a gold producing company in the near term and this approval is instrumental in reaching our target” said John Key, President and CEO of Gryphon Gold.
(GYPH) is one of the very few Junior exploration operations that actually turns into a mining and production company and they expect significant revenues and net earnings within the next few years so this it not just another pie in the sky exploration futures mining company. This company will have real revenues and earnings in 2011 and beyond.
